'VirTual' series Freeze Dryers

Based upon the highly successful "Ultra" series freeze dryers, the VirTis VirTual range is ideal for bulk or high vapour load rapid freeze drying applications.

The VirTual’s robust 50 litre internal, stainless steel condenser is configured to add the enhancements and features of an external condenser whilst preventing any vapour impedance during bulk drying. Although the condenser is a high surface area, internal coil the chamber has been specifically designed to allow the condenser to be isolated, enabling pressure rise tests to be carried out to give an indication of the end of drying. Through careful design, this is achieved by lowering the bottom shelf of the unit, which effectively seals off the condenser from the rest of the chamber.

VirTual freeze dryers feature a large shelf surface area to footprint ratio, with a standard unit measuring just 127cm W x 193cm H x 99cm D and variable, working shelf area available from 4 to 10 shelves and up to 1.42m2. Shelves can be simply latched to adjust the interspacing.

Powerful control systems allow for easy scale-up from clinical and small scale batches to larger scale production and options enable compliancy with modern industry standards, including 21CFR11, if required. Multi-step, multi-recipe storage and optional external PC control provides the user with flexibility in cycle development, historical trending and repeatability.

Three different refrigeration options are available, offering condenser temperatures from -53°C to -90°C and low shelf temperatures of -48°C to -70°C for processing varied materials. All condensers are fitted with an integral, efficient hot gas defrost system to ensure fast turn-around.
